Everyone yearns for a life with a little adventure and exclusivity, and if that includes venturing into a secret hideout behind the fridge door of an unassuming local café serving wonton noodles and roast meats, then yes, The Dragon Chamber is for you.


The Dragon Chamber is not just a Chinese restaurant, but an immersive experience that instils the concept of “secret society” hangouts. Much like Chinese underworld scenes regularly featured in Hollywood or Hong Kong movies, its settings are reminiscent of back alley hideouts with décor that reflects a rebellious and adventurous tone.

Step inside for a sensual welcome for the ones who have an eye for detail ─ whether it’s the old posters that cover the tunnel, the dim lighting or the second entrance that lends a mysterious underground vibe. What caught our eye the most were the artworks on the walls and ceiling specially designed by local artist Sabotage to match the secret chamber’s aura.


The concept of The Dragon Chamber stems from the idea of serving global Chinese food. The restaurant serves guerrilla-style food inspired by Chinese food found in different corners of the world ─ from Chinatown in Los Angeles to diaspora cuisine in Southeast Asia.

Reflecting the same spirit of their setting in their food, The Dragon Chamber takes traditional recipes and daringly innovates them to showcase modern tastes. The results are some of their signature dishes such as Dragon Claw and D*** Soup, a herbal soup double boiled for six hours with the reproductive organ of a male crocodile.

Firecracker Chicken

Fans of the numbingly hot Chongqing Mala Chicken (辣子鸡) will love this creative Asian rendition inspired by the American dish, chicken and waffles. But here, the waffles are replaced by crunchy youtiao fritters topped with maple syrup!

Served with chopped dried chillies, cashews, chives and Sichuan peppercorn, this plate of crispy deep-fried diced chicken ranks medium spicy for us. A perfect balance for diners who prefer an in-between spiciness while savouring the flavour of the chicken cubes.

For those with a lower tolerance for spicy food, the youtiao will be your saviour; or you can order a bowl of white rice to go with this!

P.S. They do have a vegetarian option with impossible meat served for this dish. Hit them up!


Wagyu Truffle Beef Hor Fun

Wok fried flat noodles served with premium A4 Kagoshima Wagyu, crispy deep-fried hor fun strips and poached egg finished with amazing truffle gravy – if this description didn’t make you drool, we don’t know what will!

The Wagyu Truffle Beef Hor Fun is one of the highly recommended dishes well-loved by The Dragon Chamber’s customers, especially those who adore the smell and flavour of truffle. The combination of texture from the crispy hor fun strips and classic hor fun noodles with the distinct wok hei taste brings this dish to the next level.

The delightful truffle sauce is served in a bamboo-like gravy boat. We recommend pouring 3/4 of the sauce first… save some for later when you want to “heat” the dish up a little.


Baked Dragon Fruit Codfish

For anyone who wants a quick entry to authentic Asian cuisine, this new dish launched in April is the perfect fare. Just look at the intense glaze of the codfish! Its savoury flavour comes from none other than the hoisin sauce, which Chinese diners may find familiar due to its common usage as a meat glaze in Chinese cuisine.

The chef wittily pairs the dish with an exotic dragon fruit as a sauce bowl. We recommend going easy on the thick sauce as it can be a little overpowering. But do have a bite of the dragon fruit’s sweet hot pink flesh!

On its own, the baked codfish is delicate, sweet and buttery soft. Even if you don’t exactly have a liking for fish skin, give the charred and crisp grilled skin a try. It’s what rounded up this dish for us.

The Dragon Claw
This exotic dish is for those seeking a little bit of thrill in your regular dinner. Featuring a locally farmed crocodile claw braised in a piquant herbal sauce and served on a bed of kale (also grown right here in Singapore).

Flaming Pineapple Beef
Another fan favourite served on a flaming hotplate in a pineapple shell! The succulent beef and hints of pineapple adds complexity which makes the dish undeniably delicious.

Mushu Pork
And finally we have Asian black pork strips stir-fried with black fungus, beech, shiitake mushrooms, Taiwanese bamboo shoots and zucchini. This simple dish with the perfect balance of spice, crunch and flavours is a definite re-order for repeat customers.
