A Virtual Christmas Vacation: Hong Kong

If you had the chance to experience the joy of travelling again, would you? Well, it’s a definite yes for us! But with the pandemic getting in the way of avid travelers, technology seems to be the best alternative for us to virtually cross borders.

This festive December, Sky Premium and Lifestyle Asia brought our guests and members on ‘A Virtual Christmas Vacation’ to one of Singaporeans’ favourite destinations, Hong Kong, which is also known as the land of dim sums!


The destination was intentionally kept a secret until the very day of the event, where our guests received the travel itinerary, and even a boarding pass at their doorstep. However, take a closer look at our mystery invite, and you’ll notice that we included a big hint in the form of Hong Kong’s cityscape!


In the hour-long session, we were honored to have our Lifestyle Ambassador, Allan Wu, as the lively host of the night for our last webinar of the year.

From a virtual tour of the 5-star Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong, an exploration of the city’s renowned sights and attractions, to 3 exciting types of Christmas giveaways held throughout the webinar, the night was packed with nothing less than the best!


While we’re at Hong Kong, you can’t forget about authentic Cantonese cuisine. Masterchef Chung Lap Fai from Hua Ting Restaurant specially curated a 3-course dinner, which was packed into hearty bento boxes for all our participants.

The menu line-up was also thoughtfully introduced by Masterchef Fai, who has been with the restaurant for almost three decades.

Alongside the Cantonese delicacies, a selection of charming wine and sakes was included in the complimentary festive hamper worth a total of SGD280. These indulgences were accompanied with a pairing masterclass led by sommelier Chek Wong, who was well-loved by our guests who attended the Sake & Sushi Masterclass webinar held last November.


Well-versed in the world of tipples, the session was short yet insightful. Our favourite takeaway was having to experience how the flavours of wine and sake could clash or enhance the tastes of different food. Sommelier Chek Wong also answered some of the questions from the ground during our live Q&A.


A quick poll at the end of the masterclass revealed the sake to be our guest’s favourite pairing of the night!
